In late January, I was able to shoot over for a weekend to visit New York. My plane left a little late from San Diego, so I took some pics using my new camera phone. Upon arrive in NY, I was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in the city. I had been there before, but it is always a shock.

I sure hope it is.

The location of our hotel was right on Times Square, which is a great starting point. From our room, we could see the hustle and bustle.

On the first day, we visited the Guggenheim Museum. Since cameras were not allowed, except on the ground floor, I was only able to take a couple quick shots with my phone. We saw Velazquez, Picasso, and Dali. It was a great experience and the architecture kept the line of people flowing.

The next day, we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met). We had both been there independently, but we still merely scratched the surface before closing time. Highlights were the Egyptian artifacts from ~4,000BC, including an entire temple, By the Seashore by Renoir, and the painting of Washington Crossing the Delaware.

After The Met, since we were nearby, I was on a mission to photograph Belvedere Castle at night in Central Park. The park was surprisingly well-lit and there were many people traversing the pathways. Even so, the temperature was in the mid-20's and the ambience was definitely spooky.

After our adventures in the park, we walked about 40 blocks along Madison Avenue, so that we could eat some great food at the Carnegie Deli.
